Today, she and her company are located in the leafy rolling countryside of the Northeast. The Sis Boom collection includes over 200 fabric designs, two Chronicle published crafting books, a range of home decor products, PDF sewing patterns, an online shop and a fun-filled blog!”

“The Sis Boom Collection, its name adopted from her childhood nickname given to her by her twin brother, defies easy categorization. With unusual artistry and a love of texture and a blend of vivid colors, Jennifer uses tag sales, flea markets and European sources as a starting point to create her art.
Jennifer’s connection to all things vintage forms the basis of her textile work. She clearly identifies with their strong, saturated and lively color and seeks to incorporate these elements into her various fabric lines for Free Spirit.”

  3. I use 50wt. and love it for piecing as well as quilting. It’s strong, almost lint free, and a cone seems to last forever!

  4. I use 50 wt most of the time, but I like having 40 wt and 28 wt for certain uses. I have not yet tried the embroidery floss, I am curious about it.

  5. I use 50 weight for piecing. Started using it from my first quilt class at my LQS and have stuck with it!

  6. I have never used Aurifil, but would love to win some and check it out. I just got a brand new Janome 8900 QCP machine YESTERDAY, so I’m ready to go! 🙂

  7. Love Aurifil or should I also say my Bernina loves Aurifil too. I use 50 WT for all my piecing.

  8. I like the 50 wt for piecing. I’ve never had any problems with it. So why change a good thing!

  9. I use neutral color 50 wt for piecing. I don’t have a favorite for quilting yet as I/m just learning.

  10. My favorite is 50 weight for piecing. It is thin but sturdy. Does not take up alot of room in the seams which makes it much easier to get that elusive 1/4″ seam.

  11. I’ve only used the 50 wt for machine piecing and quilting. I love the colors in this collection.

  12. I recently purchased some Aurifil 40wt as it said it was strong and would accentuate my quilting. I should have gotten more colors, but I chose peacock & rust. Suddenly all my projects are lighter, but I’m dying to try it & looking for my next colors to try so I can stock up.

  13. I’ve never used 40 wt for quilting but would love to try. I love your 50 wt threads.

  14. I love the 50wt cotton, which I use for quiltmaking (piecing and appliqué) and for quilting. My machine seems to prefer Aurifil!

  18. Thank you so much for the giveaway. I have only used the 50 weight. I love it because it sews so smoothly when you are doing hand applique. It doesn’t tangle or knot and your work looks fantastic.

  19. I have only tried the 50wt thus far, but look forward to expanding my sewing, embroidery and quilting skills and trying other types and weights of threads. Thank you. kathleendotlutzatcomcastdotnet

  20. I have a lot of 50 weight thread, and it’s great for piecing and quilting, especially FMQ. But I also have some 30 weight thread that I want to try to use in my machine for straight-line quilting when I want the thread to really pop. It’s variegated, so I’m just waiting for the right project to give it a try!

  21. I use white or off white 50 wt for piecing because that is all my quilt shop sells–they don’t have any colors 🙁 I was so happy to discover it after having such trouble with other threads getting stuck in my machine. When I bought my daughter her first machine, I gave her a good supply of it! Aurifil is excellent!!

  22. I have never used Aurifil yet…..but I love Jennifer’s fabrics and have a stash of them. I would love for my first taste of the thread to be in her colors 🙂

  23. I love the 50wt for piecing and quilting … it’s an allrounder and I so great to not have to change the thread while doing one or the other. And it’s great for hand-piecing, too!

  24. I use 50# the most, but also love the 40#. I have also used the 12# for hand quilting and embroidery and really love it. Oh, and the new poly blend for quilting is absolutely lovely!

  25. Hard to choose my favorite; 50wt is my favorite for piecing; 40wt my favorite for handquilting; have some of both and would love to add the luscious looking set you are offering on your giveaway.

  26. Not fair to pick just one, I love the one that perfectly matches which ever quilt I’m working on.

  166. LOVE ALL THREAD AURIFIL! I piece with 50 wt and use 60 wt. in the bobbin. I quilt with 40, though it’s hard to find, so this giveaway is super special. I embroider and do wool applique with 12 wt. My go-to thread, my only thread!

  167. I have never tried this thread but I sure am hearing a lot of wonderful comments about it. I must get busy looking on line to get some.

  168. I use 50 w for piecing and quilting, it’s fabulous. I would love the chance to try the 40w in all of those gorgeous colours!

  169. I absolutely adore Aurifil thread… and so does my Bernina!! use Aurifil 40wt for all my quilting. These colours look absolutely fabulous!

  170. I love them all, 50wt for piecing 40 wt. for quilting and the 12 wt. wool is my newest favorite, would love to get all of the colors!

  171. I use 50wt most as I can use it for piecing (hand and machine) and quilting and binding.

  172. I’ve only used 50 wt – for both piecing and quilting, but recently I’ve been thinking that a little thicker thread might be stronger for peiceing – I’d love to try the 40 wt..

  173. Aurifil is the only thread I will use. my machine stays clean and my hand applique stiches are practically invisible. Other thread just isn’t worth the frustration.

  174. I love the 50 wt. I is great for piecing and quilting on my long arm. Love it!

  175. I like the 28 wt. It is perfect for my embroidery. But for quilting, I like the 50 for piecing and the 40 for machine quilting.

  176. I love 50wt for machine and hand piecing. I’d like to try 40wt for quilting, though. The 50wt was fine, but I’d like to try something with a little more weight to highlight the quilting more.

  177. I have very little experience with Aurifil, and I have only used 50wt. I would like to try how 40wt works. Thanks for the chance!

  178. Aurifil is difficult to find here in San Diego County but I have found a few spools will be trying them soon. These are great colors.

  179. Thanks for a fabulous giveaway! I, actually, have never used Aurifil but I have heard so many wonderful things that I can hardly wait to go out and buy some.

  180. I love the 50 wt. Its fineness makes it perfect for piecing and helps it sink into the fabric when quilting, something I like because I am none too expert a quilter. I would love 40 wt. for matchstick quilting.

  181. HI,I use 50 wt most of the time, but like having 40 wt on hand.Using 28 wt for Top stitching>love that! Not yet tried the embroidery floss, I am curious about it.Thanks for a sweet giveaway!

  182. Our quilt shop started us out on the 50 weight. Liking it so far. Haven’t used others yet, but I want to start using contrasting colors to add to look of my projects!
