  2. I love both 50 and 30 weight threads depending on what I am using them for. This is my “Dream Prize” so far today. Thanks for a great chance to dream.

  3. To be honest, I have no idea what my thread weight is. I haven’t tried Aurifil, and I don’t think the brand I use is labeled with weights.

  4. That’s a hard one, I love them all, but I use the 50wt. the most since I use it for all of the sewing and then the 40wt. for topstitching and quilting and then less and less of the others, But love them All and this box looks awesome!

  5. I use 50 wt for piecing and 50 or 40 wt for free motion quilting. Slowly building my Aurifil collection.

  6. Oh! I use several different threads, depending on the project!… But, I most often use 50 weight thread, with 40 wt threads coming in a close second!!
    Thank you!
    Pat T.

  7. I’ve only used 50wt so far so I guess that’s my favorite! I do plan on trying the 40wt on a hand quilting project next year.

  8. 50 wt is my favorite. Thanks for the great giveaway! I love using Aurifil for my piecing and quilting.

  9. To be honest, I have no idea what my thread weight is.The brand I use is not labeled with a weight on it. I have been wanting to try Aurfil for a long time though.

  10. I use the 50 weight most and love it but I do want to say that I love your 12wt when I do my embroidery, it is by far my favorite embroidery thread.

  11. I use mostly 50 wt, but have bought some of their floss to try. crystalbluern at tds dot net

  12. I love auriful thread. just finished a craftsy quilt and it worked great. Thanks for the wonderful chance to win those gorgeous threads, Helen G. hrglover at hotmail dot com

  13. I resisted using Aurifil for a long time, as I’m wary of what may be just trends, but once I tried it I was hooked! It’s all I use now. It’s so smooth and easy to use, and definitely not a trend. It’s here to stay! 50 weight is my very favorite.

  14. I like 50 weight for general sewing, 40 weight for quilting when i want it to show. Have also used 12 weight for this. Like 100 wt silk for needle turn applique

  15. I normally just use regular weight, for my machine. I’m not familiar with these threads, so I’m intrigued.

  16. I can’t really decide between the 40 and 50wt threads. I use both of them for quilting. Aurifil is the only thread my machine really likes for quilting, so this is an awesome giveaway! Thank you.

  17. Beautiful color selection. I haven’t intentionally tried different thread weights, now I have to go do it!

  18. I have never had the chance to try Aurifil thread. I would like to be able to try and see for myself what it is like to see this thread on my sewing machine. I only use what is available at the local Sewing Store, which is an all purpose thread. This is, indeed, an incredible giveaway and the winner will be greatly appreciated. There is no better thread than Aurifil and thank you for being a part of the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway and the chance to win.

  19. I probably use the 50 wt the most for machine piecing, but love the others…wool for wool applique and 40 wt for topstitching and 12 wt for hand embroidery…who am I kidding…LOVE all things Aurifil.

  20. I have no idea about thread weights. Can only distinguish between the normal thread and the thread for hemming jeans haha… so much to learn still!

  21. Such pretty colours!! My go-to thread is 50 wt for piecing and machine quilting. For hand quilting, a chunky 12 wt is fun.

  22. I use the 50wt thread the most and keep lots of neutrals on hand. However, I also like heavier weight thread for definition and impact in a finished project.

  23. I a month still confused by tread weights. But I was introduced to Aurifil thread 4 years ago when I started quilting for twin grandsons! I love the way it sews and always use it. I am amazed at the gorgeous colors they make.

  24. Aurifil enables #CreativeGoodness. Love both your 50 and 40 wt threads for quilting and machine embroidery. Definitely want to build a stash of 12 wt for machine applique as I love the look (also looks excellent for hand applique, but I rarely do hand work).

  25. The 50 wt is the only one I have tried. I will have to try some of the other kinds. I really like what I have used.

  26. Love all of your threads, but 50wt is what I use the most. I do love using a 12wt in my machine though for accent stitching, it’s a lot of fun! Thanks for the chance to win this pack, love love love Kate Spain 🙂

  27. I LOVE the Aurifil 50 weight! I use it for piecing, binding (both sides via home machine) and quilting, also via home machine. I change my needle from Sharp 70 for piecing to Sharp 80 for the binding and quilting. There is simply no other thread I would consider using.

  28. I have the most of 50 wt for piecing and machine applique, but I also like 40 wt, and hope to have some 12 wt one of these days.

  29. I am just learning about the various weights and what they are for… but I do love the heavier weights for quilting for the extra texture. Thanks for the giveaway!

  30. I still feel like I’m new to sewing especially when I say, “There’s thread weight?” eeeep! I’ve wanted to try Aurifil for the longest time and would certainly help in learning all the inside pieces of sewing 🙂

  31. I love Aurifil 50wt for piecing and quilting, and prefer 40 wt when sewing clothes and if I want the quilting to show more. I do need more 40wt colors, though. I only have a few of the basics.

  32. I like the 50wt threads best, I still haven’t tried 60wt, though. And I’d love to try Aurifloss for handquilting. Thanks for the chance!

I love your pinterest posts too!

  38. I use Aurifil 50 wt thread for piecing and quilting. It’s the only weight I have found available in my town. My bobbins last a long time.

  39. Kind of weird but I love using button weight & upholstery weight thread. I’ve never used Aurifil so not sure what weight I’d like in that; the colors are lovely tho.

  40. I’m too new to know my favorite thread weight! This batch of thread would be great to experiment with.

  41. I’ve not used Aurifil before and I am not familiar with the weights. We just use normal weight around here unless I am stitching up holes in the upholstery! 🙂

  42. I keep collecting 12 and 8 wt because it is so pretty. But I really only use 40wt. I need to challenge myself in 2016.

  43. I use 50 weight for piecing, I have never tried the 40 weight. I make lots of bags so I would love to try it.

  44. I use 50wt 100% cotton most of the time. I have just learned tho about 40wt for heavier projects and look forward to learning about that..plus i bought some glow in the dark thread…should be fun to learn about!

  45. I use 50 wt. Aurifil for piecing. Even though quilting uses tons of thread, I generally don’t buy special thread…just stick with the 50 wt. sjvonfumetti at yahoo dot com

  46. To be honest, I just started sewing and I am still sorting out through all the different threads. 🙂 It’s a lot to take in, but thanks for the giveaway!

  47. I usually use 50 WT. But sometimes use 30 and 40.
This is an amazing prize. Would make a great gift or something to keep….I don’t have a anyone to give to that sews..:)

  48. I just started using aurifil 50 wt and I’m beginning to understand the hype. It is really smooth and helps my piecing. I haven’t tried the 40 wt yet.

  49. I’ve never used aurofil thread and would be thrilled to try any of the threads in your giveaway.
    Thank you for your generosity.
    Nancy, ndmessier @ aol.com

  50. I use more 40 wt than any other weight thread. I like the 50 and 60wt for hand piecing hexies and such, and have occasionally used 100wt silk as well as 12 wt Aurifil, but 40 wt is my go to size.

  51. I use 50 most often. But I love the 40 for quilting and love the 28 when some glitzy look is needed on my quilt top.!

  52. I haven’t yet had the opportunity to try what looks to be amazing Aurifil threads. I’d try the 40 or 50 and see which I liked best for what I do. I’m so impressed by their range of colors.

  53. Oh, my…I don’t know enough about the differences to HAVE a favorite! I guess I’ll have to experiment!

  54. I love the 50wt thread! Love your colors – they are so gorgeous! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  56. I use mainly 50 weight thread. I have been wanting to try this brand of thread. Thanks for the chance to win some thread

  57. I have never used Aurifil thread…so not sure what weight I use…or what different weight numbers mean… Would love to Win..thanks for the chance! 🙂

  58. I have never tried this thread but have read that many quilters love it. I hope to win so I can try it! Thank you so much.

  59. I usually use 50wt but I have some lovely 28wt that’s nice for visibly hand-stitched bindings and the like.

  60. I have to admit I never really thought about thread weight before, lol, I usually stick to general polyester unless I want to do top stitching, then I do enjoy some nice jean top stitching thread.

  61. I like the thicker thread for FMQing. I’m just a beginner, but do like seeing what I have sewn. Just finished a fun little project using up the bobbins from older projects so the end product has several colors of thread going thru it. What fun!

  62. I use 50/2 weight for all of my freemotionquilting. Once I tried the thread a couple of years ago, that was it…works beautifully every time and the selection of colours is great.

  63. I have only used or purchased 50wt for piecing. I’d love to try any of the other weights. Let’s begin with 40wt…. 😊

  64. I have just one spool of aurifil (40 wt) and just seems to last forever! But I need more than just white 🙂

  65. 50 wt seems to work best for me, but I really like 40 wt also, it’s just harder to find. I’ve never tried Aurifil but I’ve heard it’s amazing.

  66. I’m a 50wt thread devotee – since trying Aurifil 50wt it’s all I use for piecing & quilting. Thanks for the chance to win.

  67. My favorite thread weight is 50 weight, but that is because my sewing machines do best with it. I think for quilting I would really prefer 40, but I don’t seem to have much luck using it in my finicky beasts.

  68. Love Aurifil!!! Use both 50 and 40; but 50 the most. If I could have only one, it would be 50!! Great giveaway! Thanks!!

  69. 50 wt for piecing.
Recently I was gifted w/some of your embroidery floss…primo!
I hand stitched the sides of a fabric basket using it.

  70. I have heard 50 wt is the way to go … so will have to order some soon and find out if I have a new thread!

  71. I’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t realize there were different thread weights. I’ve always been interested in trying Aurifil so maybe this is the beginning of my education?

  72. I use a huge spool of Aurifil 50 wt on a spool holder to piece most of my quilts! I would love to win some more aurifil to use for machine quilting!

  73. im afraid i am not school in thread weight. I pretty much just use whatever i have on hand! thanks you for a chance to win some very highly recommended threads!

  74. I love using Aurifill 50 at for piecing (even helps the “piecing challenged” like me 🙂 ) but, I love love love using Aurifill 30 at when embellishing with decorative stitches on my sewing machine.

  75. Of course it depends on the project and type of sewing (i.e., hand, quilting, embroidery) but overall 50wt is my favorite general purpose!!

  76. I love the 50 wt threat for piecing. I plan to try the 12 wt wool blend thread for quilting a woolen quilt. Hope three spools is enough! Anxious to try the 40 wt for FMQ in general.

  77. I would love to win this! I don’t have a lot of thread colors, other than basic! Pick me! Pick me! …
(jumping up and down and throwing hands around!!!!)

  78. I’ve never had the chance to use Aurifil thread, but would love to find out! jgemeroy(at)gmail(dot)com

  79. 50 wt is the size I use the most. I’m slowly building my Aurifil thread stash and this would be a great boost! Thanks for this opportunity to win.

  80. I use 50 wt the most, especially for piecing. Thanks for the chance at a fabulous giveaway!

  81. I prefer the 50 wgt. thread for just about everything. I use it for piecing and for quilting. I don’t like the quilting to dominate, so I don’t use the heavier weights for that.

  82. I love piecing and quilting with the 50wt. For piecing, it helps me achieve an accurate seam, and for quilting — still new to me — it achieves definition without being especially pronounced. I’d like to try some handwork with the 12wt

  83. I love a Aurifil thread, especially 50wt. It’s the only thread I use to piece with. I’ve also used it in a couple of quilting projects, and it’s wonderful.

  84. Oh no, I”m not sophisticated enough to answer this one! I usually just use the all purpose gutterman that I get at Joann’s or my quilt shop..

  85. I’ve become SUCH a sewing snob. Aurifil 50 weight for almost all my piecing and handwork. Love the stuff!

  86. So far, I’ve used mostly the 50 wt and I love it! Recently got a spool of 40 wt to experiment with as well.

  87. I have not used Aurifil as I live in rural Nova Scotia and have just started quilting again after 15 years….My choices are limited for matching thread to fabric but in this case I would match fabric to thread if I win……Love your site, I have learned a lot…your tuts have taught me much about the craft I did not know. Thank you!! Donna

  88. Beautiful collection on threads, hope I win. I have never used Aurifil as I have never seen it on sale here.

  89. First, thank you for an awesome giveaway. My favorite weight thread is 40 wt. I’m a quilter. Aurifil is the only thread I buy for my piecing projects. Merry Christmas!

  90. Aurifil is my thread of choice for all piecing. I use the 50 weight all the time. I’d love the chance to try the 40 weight. Not much of it is available in my area. Thanks for the chance.

  91. Usually 50 wt, but have used 40 wt before as well 🙂
Many thanks for the chance to win this. I would love to own abox full of Aurifil!

  92. I’m new to sewing and just realized there was a difference. Whoops. I love this collection though. It’s so pretty.

  93. What a great idea to have 2 weights in one box! I love 50 wt for piecing, but the 50 looks so nice for quilting 🙂

  94. I’ve just started using 50 wt. for piecing. I didn’t realize what a difference it made with the bulk of the seam. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  95. I love 50 wt thread for piecing. Thanks for the chance to win a whole box of thread!

    lin.web.28 at gmail dot com

  96. I love all of Aurifils threads their so beautiful to work with it just depends on what you are making at that time, right now I’m mainly using 50 weight.

  97. I use Aurifil Thread all the time and love it! I also love Kate Spain fabrics and have her last three lines, looking forward to her next! I could sure use this set as I can only afford the small sets. Thank you.

  98. I use a mix! I go in spurts, I order aurifil when I can, and save it for special projects. I love to use 50 wt Aurifil when I make a special gift.

  99. I don’t have a clue what weight thread I use. I hand quilt, and I really want to try your thread. Thanks for the giveaway and Merry Christmas! vickise at gmail dot com

  100. I haven’t really played around with different weight threads, but I would love to try both these weights of Aurifi,! Thanks for the generous giveaway! Fingers crossed 😉

  101. Love Aurifil thread! just recently started using it but have never used the 40wt, would love to win, I need more color in my life (thread-wise) haha. thanks!!!

  102. I am in love with Kate Spain’s colors. Aurifil is the best thread there is!! This is a perfect giveaway.

  103. I use 50 the most as I piece a lot. But I also love 40 for quilting. I’d like to try the 12 for quilting and I’m so excited to see there will be metallics available.
