Dresden Summer Stitch Along, Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of the Dresden Summer Stitch Along! We loved kicking things off on June 20 with the release of the full quilt pattern and the first embroidery design. It’s been such a joy to see this collaboration come to life—pairing Susan Ache’s signature style with the soft, vibrant beauty of Aurifil Floss.

Each embroidered circle center is a celebration of thoughtful design and rich texture, and we’re thrilled to continue showcasing how hand-stitching can add something truly special to your quilts.

Today, we’re releasing the Week 2 embroidery pattern, ready to bring your next Dresden Plate block to life.

How were your first 2 weeks of Summer? A big hello to all my stitching friends out there, patiently waiting for your second embroidery release. It’s Susan Ache (yardgrl60 on Instagram), here to make sure you get your next pattern for your wonderfully fun summer stitching project.

Okay, time to spill all of the details! Did you really trace and start stitching right away or have you decided to collect a few first?  Here’s the thing about me, I am a perfect first month for anything “along”. I adore the first month feeling of a start and an actual finish. As the time goes by the second and third and more “along” to the finish line, I fall behind.  So now that you know that about me, you’ll love that what it really means is that I am a great cheerleader for you. You don’t have a deadline & you don’t have to check in. There is no pressure here and while I would always love to see what you are up to, I truly just want you to enjoy every single part of stitching and to celebrate the results of your work whenever you finish.

So, I’ll see you back here in another 2 weeks so that you can grab your next stitching pattern.  In the meantime, enjoy your stitching AND enjoy your summer! Thanks for stitching along with us!

Whether you’re a longtime fan of Dresden blocks or trying your hand at embroidery for the first time, this is a project designed for joy, exploration, and a whole lot of summer stitching fun. We can’t wait to see your take on these joyful blocks. Happy stitching, and stay tuned for Week 3 on July 18!
