Happy Holidays!! The Quiltmas Spectacular is a joyful, advent-style quilting collaboration bringing together 12 modern quilt designers and 12 festive quilt blocks, all created to celebrate the season through stitching. Designed to be creative, approachable, and versatile, the blocks can be sewn into a holiday quilt, used in smaller projects, or enjoyed as individual makes. Aurifil was proud to sponsor Quiltmas this year, supplying the Quiltmas Elves with Aurifil 100% Cotton thread to help bring each design to life, alongside PURE Solids from Art Gallery Fabrics.
Quiltmas is a self-paced digital workshop, and you still have until December 31st to sign up and receive all 12 block patterns together. Whether you’re enjoying slow holiday stitching or planning ahead for next year, this is a lovely way to keep the festive creativity going.

Day two of Quiltmas features a playful block by Gladhand Sews, created using raw-edge machine appliqué. It’s a great opportunity to experiment with decorative stitching while keeping the process fun and approachable.

The Drumroll Quilt Block brings rhythm and movement to Quiltmas, inspired by the playful syncopation of a drumbeat. Built with HSTs, it’s a fun block that invites you to experiment and make the design uniquely your own.

Holiday Zest is a festive take on the classic orange peel block, bringing fresh energy and cheerful curves to Quiltmas — a beautiful blend of tradition and seasonal sparkle.

Dance of the Candy Canes brings playful movement and holiday nostalgia to Quiltmas, with bold curves that invite colour play and creative interpretation. Designed using AGF PURE Solids and stitched with Aurifil thread, this joyful block is all about experimenting with festive palettes and making the design uniquely your own.

Little Dove is a meaningful foundation paper pieced block inspired by peace and hope. With its thoughtful angles and optional embroidered and appliqué details, this design invites makers to slow down and stitch something truly special.

Folk Tree is a sweet and simple, traditionally pieced Christmas tree block that brings a cozy, nostalgic feel to Quiltmas — perfect for adding a touch of classic holiday charm to your festive stitching.

Santa’s Haul brings classic Christmas charm to Quiltmas with a playful gift sack block inspired by Santa’s most important job — delivering presents. A fun design made even more joyful through its many creative variations.

Retro Baubles is a playful, customizable block featuring gentle curves and plenty of room for fussy cutting and fabric fun. With clear guidance and optional templates, this design invites makers to explore colour and motif in a truly festive way.

Almost Midnight is a quick-to-piece, celebratory block that brings party vibes to Quiltmas. Made using the stitch-and-flip method, it plays with colour and fabric placement to create a fun illusion of transparency — perfect for stitching up something festive (mocktail optional).
Day Twelve | @zahmco
Quilty Nutcracker closes out Quiltmas with a whimsical foundation paper pieced block inspired by a love of festive traditions and all things quilting. Complete with a fabric bundle and a spool of Aurifil Cotton 12wt in hand, this charming design is a joyful finale to the Quiltmas collection.
