The fantastic giveaway today is for the newest Camille Roskelley large spool collection Simplify. Twelve colors of the finest 50wt cotton with 1422 yards of thread on each spool.

  357. Love Aurifil. Just bought 2 Pat Bravo boxes. Finished my first quilt ever last week. After multiple thread breaking bought Aurifil. Everything went smoothly from then! But as a beginner I can still use all sorts of colors.

This allows me to snap a shot easily, pick up my fabrics or order on the next sale date and get tips from the designer and others. I will also take to my fave sewing center and bounce off thoughts with them as I am in my first year of quilting. Adore and follow Sew Mama Sew, Aurifil. So drawn to the Moda fabrics.

  1445. I tend to find a blog I like, sort the entire blog and save inspiration in a spreadsheet, and then move on to another one in a few days. So… it changes a lot. 😉

I prefer a multi-pronged approach– blogs like Auribuzz, Stitched In Color, Don’t Call Me Betsy, Lily’s Quilts, Imagingermonkey, Blue nickel are great for continuous inspiration; Pinterest is fabulous for finding tutorials and favorite projects, Flickr is super for finding camaraderie through bees and swaps, and Instagram is wonderful for quick encouraging pics of finishes, works in progress, or to get “instant” help or feedback.

    Quilting is My Therapy by Angela Walters and Free Mituon Quilting Project by Leah Day are also two of my favorites blogs.
    I would love some Simplify thread because I’m working on my first Swoon quilt by Camille and matching thread to machine quilt would be great!

  1575. I get my ideas from daily magazines, to billboards, as everything has a pattern and I love to see them all come alive when I start to cut the fabric , and once that first stitch takes ahold I can see it all come together,

  1583. I usually just Google different techniques. Lately I have been just on Youtube learning how to do different techniques and what type of sewing machine foots work best for what I plan on doing.
