2014 Aurifil Designer of the Month Challenge Fabric

2014 Aurifil Design Team in Houston

We had a chance for a group photo while in Houston!

2014 team 3

A lot of fun messing around .. almost the entire group was there this time!

Pat Sloan 2014 Aurifil challenge fabric

For 2014 we selected this group of fabric for the Design team challenge. The prints are all from “Wishes” by Sweetwater for Moda. Plus the Moda Bella Snow.

Each designer is going to create a 12″ finished block with a modern/clean feel using some of these fabrics and adding in ONE fabric from their stash. I love having that added spark that the designer uses to make the block perfect.

Many on the design team also design fabric, so you will see some of them making the blocks with their fabric lines, which is what I’m going to do!  I’ll be using my Grey with a bit of the Green and Orange from Bobbins’ and Bits.

And I love this line so much this pretty bundle is here to inspire me.. ((that’s my story.. you know the rest… wink!))

The first block is from Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic, which will set the tone for the entire year. I will be posting her interview and block the first week in January.

Be sure you are signed up for Aurifil’s newsletter at the top right of this block and mine on the right sidebar of my website!

  1. Stunning fabrics but Pat I won’t be able to use them unless you know of an aussie reseller that has your range. Otherwise I will hunt out some new fabrics in January with similar colouring. It looks amazing fun and now I am very excited, can’t wait.www.julie714@adam.com.au
Ps loved the photo’s of you all. Looks like you all had a blast on the day. Can’t wait to for it all to start!

    1. Hi Julie, I have just checked and the Australian online store Fabric Patch has both Pat Sloan’s Bobbins and Bits (http://www.fabricpatch.com.au/main/fabric-by-range-c-82/bobbins-and-bits-c-82_1228/) and also Sweetwater’s Wishes. I’m lucky to live nearby and I can sneak out and visit Janine but I can also highly recommend her online service. I’m really looking forward to following the challenge – there’s so many of my favourite designers involved – can’t wait.

  2. Pat, I love your Bobbins & Bits: It’s on my Christmas list, and I saw the box arrive in the mail, so Yeah!! And this BOM looks so fun: I’m doing it this year: just have to order my Wishes fabric and I’m ready!!

  3. Is there a supply list to know what to buy? Can this be done from a layer cake? Looking forward to the blocks!

    1. Debby there is no supply list as each designer is making a mystery block and I have no idea which fabrics they will use.

  4. I’m doing this! 🙂 One can never have too many quilty projects going at one time…right?! 🙂
Now to dig in my stash and come up with some fabric to play with……

  5. If some one wishes expert view regarding running a blog after that i suggest him/her to pay a visit this web site,
    Keep up the fastidious work.

  6. I tend not to comment, however after reading a few of the comments here 2014 Aurifil Designer of thhe Month Challenge Fabbric | AURIbuzz.
I do have 2 questions for you if you do not mind. Is it just me or does it appear like a feew off these responses look like they are written by brain dead individuals?

😛 And, if you are writing onn other places, I’d loke to keep up with you.

Would you list of every one of all your shared pages likie
your twiitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

  7. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog.

It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and appearance.
I must say that you’ve done a awesome job with this.

Additionally, the blog loads super quick for
    me on Chrome. Exceptional Blog!
