I absolutely love Aurifil Thread! I have only used white, black, and ecru, but I would love to try the Dove grey that everyone is talking about. Local quilt shops don’t carry it here, so I try to buy from vendors, when I go to the larger quilt shows.

My quilting has changed over the years. I used to used lots of dark taupe for piecing the reproductions, or the steel grey, now I prefer lighter shade like antique white, not sure of the number. I have several just a couple numbers off of each other.

Aurifil is the only thread I use for quilt piecing – always wonderful!! I follow Pat on her blog!!
Just getting to know Aurifil! I have been using it for piecing, and have a little bit waiting in the wings to be used for quilting. I thoroughly enjoyed Alex’s presentation at Country Traditions, Fremont NE back in June 🙂
My neutral is 2000 2CN, I hope that is the right number I was looking at!
Those thread colors weem like they are perfect colors for a quilt.
I’d have to say 2024 is my most used, but I’d love to use silver in some projects!
I use a lot of the colors, but 2600 gray is my go-to. I absolutely love the 50 weight for machine quilting.
2600 Dove. I definitely need additional options. Thanks!
I use 2600 light gray for sewing my scrap quilts. It’s the perfect neutral.
I love 2600 Light grey and 2021 More is Better when dealing with Aurifil Thread.

Hi Pat and Alex, Now you are both really looking like you are having so much fun. I love the pattern and Aurifil Threads. My favourite neutral is cream 2311, but I would to try the others as well. Plus getting some fabric to use and my favourite pattern is an added bonus and will make my quilter’s heart sing. The for the opportunity quilter julie for Adelaide South Australia.

oops, didn’t see that I need to comment about a color! I have actually used the most of #2735 – a bright blue. I’ve made a couple baby boy quilts lately!
I love 2311, but any neutral that I can find in Calgary is fantastic! I love Aurifil!

I have not used Aurifil yet. Would love to win this to try it out. My most often used neutral is grey.
I have never used any of the Aurifil neutrals, but a medium gray would be my first choice for piecing.
Not sure about the names but I love #2000 for lighter fabrics and #2615 for when I have more colorful fabrics.

Mine would be a variation of white. 2024. I also like the dove color.
I use 2000 for all of my piecing. It is an easy number to remember, and a great neutral color.
2021 for me!
I use #2000 Ecru. Love how it blends with most fabrics!
2600, 2605 and 2610- use it for piecing, for everything!
I use 2021 for almost all my piecing, although 2600 is fast becoming a favourite as well!
I like # 2370.
I use a medium gray for all of my piecing.

I don’t use asnything but beiges and light grey for piecing (my fave!) and they have never failed to please me.
I have only used Aurifil White #2024 up to this point. Most of the fabrics I like have looked the best with the white.
For hand quilting I use 8088 for all my primitive projects.
The color blends with all of the other colors and gives the piece a wonderful hand sewn look, it is my favorite shade.

I am new to quilting and would love to try this brand. I see that most post are in favor of it and use it often. I love all colors regardless, they can always blend in with another and come out beautiful. Enjoy your Quilting site very much and have learned a lot so far. Pat is the one who inspired me to try Aurifil thread and I am now converted! I love the thread. Pat is so energetic and she inspires me to quilt, I wish there were enough hours in a day for all the lovely fabrics and patterns she designs, I would love to make them all. She is an amazing woman!
I actually use my aurifil thread for a lot of different things, especially like to use the 50wt for embroidery. Need to get those still.

Haven’t tried Aurifil yet maybe I will one day but so far I attempt to blend my quilting thread with a lighter shade or matching shade of my fabric. I like to piece my work with white or cream
