Sassy, bright and fun are only a few words that can be used to describe Aurifil Designer Jill Finley! Jill brings joy into any room when she arrives to teach, lecture or just hang out. She possesses a knack for design that will knock your socks off and her passion for quilting will make you want to quilt even more.
“Jill Finley has been designing quilt patterns for over 15 years. Several years ago she launched her design business, Jillily Studio. She designs and sells quilt fabric, patterns, kits and notions. Her quilt designs depict her own fresh style using great color and texture with many fabrics. She usually adds a little appliqué to soften and finish each design. Her designs have been featured in several magazines including American Patchwork and Quilting, Quilt, Quilter’s Home and McCall’s Quilting.
Jillily Studio produces the popular notions, Appli-Glue and Poke-A-Dots, along with numerous kits and patterns. Teaching and lecturing about her appliqué method and design style keeps Jill very busy traveling all over the USA.
Jill loves to spend time with her family; working, playing, eating, reading, gardening, sewing, cooking, learning and just being. She and her husband Randy live in Herriman, Utah. They are the parents of seven children and are blessed with seven grandchildren.”
Jill is Master Designer for Aurifil Threads with two collections EveryDay Colors and her newest collection Sunday Best Colors.

As a Master Designer, Jill has great knowledge in how to choose and use all the Aurifil weights. She made a very informative video with Fat Quarter Shop demonstrating how to read the Aurifil label and why Aurifil is the best thread available!
Jill loves “Creating fabric collections for Henry Glass & Co.Fabrics. It is so great to see my designs actually become fabric. I love what I do, it is a joy to be able to create new designs and have others enjoy them too.” Jams& Jellies Basics is Jill’s newest collection!
Jill has authored two books with so many projects for you to make and love with Martingale/That Patchwork Place
Stitched Together
and Home Sweet Quilt
An avid traveler, Jill will be adding cruising with World of Quilts Travel for an Aurifil Cruise teaching three different classes to make these wonderful projects while enjoying being pampered while sailing the Eastern Caribbean to her list in January 2015!

how fun, I love reading about the different designers
Aww, I used to love to read these columns, and the block designs each month were great to use for the BOM at my guild. I could learn different designers ideas about color, design, trends, how their designs originated, etc. This one, sadly, seemed like nothing but a series of advertisements…for Aurifil, for her Henry Glass fabrics (no information, just ‘here they are, please buy them’), her books, and her cruise. 🙁
This was a very challenging block. Glad it wasn’t in the begining otherwise I wouldn’t have continued. It seemed the color photos didn’t make the design layout.
This was my favorite block! Thank you!
