Playmaker by Victoria Findlay Wolfe

We love every chance we get to collaborate with designer, author, and all around textile genius Victoria Findlay Wolfe. She is a steadfast Aurifil champion and we are so grateful for that mutual love and respect. Her latest collection comes by way of RJR Fabrics, a new and exciting shift for her. Playmaker is a bright and modern collection of florals and unique prints — everything we’ve come to know and love from Victoria.

The coordinating thread collection is the perfect range of 6 Large spools of 50wt thread. They are not only the perfect shades to coordinate with Playmaker, but also a fantastic line-up of some of Victoria’s go-to colors for piecing and quilting.

  1. The most fun I have had with quilting involved challenges I entered through my quilt group. You’re given a theme or a set of rules and then come up with something meet it. I also always make myself use only fabrics I already own.
Also, just quilting on anything when you’re doing it with friends (or granddaughters) is a heck of a lot of fun.

  2. the most fun I have with quilting is when I have a new project to work on, it is so exciting to start something new and maybe even learn something new.

  3. The most fun I have had with quilting has been when I take a class. It is such fun to be with other quilters and to see each other’s projects. The quilting is fun and the fellowship with other quilters is great!

  4. The most fun I’ve had is when I’ve been at a retreat, learning new things, meeting new people and not having to think about the to-dos of daily life.

  5. The most fun is shopping for the fabric. But I love the whole process, not to mention the end result! I also have something to show for my time, and memories of each journey.

  6. Most fun….. going to retreats with my mom! It’s the best time ever sharing this amazing craft with an even more amazing mom!

  7. The most fun I have when quilting is choosing the fabrics, always my favorite part! Sometimes this can take days to come up with a fabric selection that is pleasing to me!

  8. Frequently we just don’t take enough time to just have fun playing with color! Great thread choice of colors, usable with any collection.

  9. My favorite part of quilting is piecing and then putting on my label! Love these thread colors. Thanks for the chance to win 🙂

  10. The most fun I have with quilting is seeing it come together & turn into something special!! Most fun quilting tho HAS to be when my daughter comes from NC & we have a few days of Quilty Fun!! She is waaaaay better at it than me..so is my encourager & Inspiration!! I live in Ohio…so trips don’t happen as often as we’d like..but Fun when they do! 🙂

  11. What a great, VFW question! I think the most fun I have had was when I had a stretch of time to myself and was in the groove, moving from project to project, with good energy and creativity.

  12. All quilting is fun, especially when designing. I like choosing unconventional fabrics for applique backgrounds, who says we can’t have snowmen on paisley prints.

  13. I looove fabric shopping and always have fun especially in person but online shopping is equally enjoyable.

  14. I love trying new patterns and lately adding my own quilting ideas to a quilt. Most of my quilts are for donation but that doesn’t mean I can’t make them pretty.

  15. I have fun with my small groups: Loose Ends & Loose Threads, friends, retreats, shopping, and completing UFOs

  16. The most fun? Meeting Victoria in person, going to her loft, plus just quilting and doing my own stuff.

  17. The most fun I have quilting is going on our own quilt shop hops with Ann, my best friend. We set a destination and then map out a route stopping at all the quilt shops on the way. We love it!

  18. The most fun that I have had quilting was when I actually made a diaper bag as a baby gift for a very dear friend. The bag was quilted and made with a really cute hedge hog print, and an appliqued hedge hog on both sides. It is the most adorable thing I have ever made. Thanks!

  19. I think I have the most fun when I am trying a new technique. I also love it when I run out of fabric for a quilt and have to figure out an alternate plan. That gets my creativity going.

  20. The most fun I’ve had with quilting was shopping with my daughter and new son in law for the fabric to make signature quilt blocks for their wedding reception.

  21. Making my first quilt! The whole thing was a learning experience and I had fun with the challenge of trying to get everything right and being okay with when things didn’t turn out quite right.

  22. My friends and I participated in a quilting bee. It was so much fun sitting around the quilting frame with everyone and chatting as we quilted.

  23. Most fun , the whole process is fun. I love trying my hand at free motion quilting, mostly wavy lines and matchstick quilting.
    Thank you!

  24. Oh, gosh, there are so many parts that are fun, but being around friends who are also quilters is right up there!

  25. Aside from working with textiles and threads, I love attending retreats, shows, and sew days with my quilting friends.

  26. The most fun I’ve had with quilting is making the same quilt, in our own colorways, at a retreat with my quilty peeps.
