Flowers for Freya

We were looking for a fun Spring project… that one with fresh bright colors and popping florals. Then along came Susan Ache & Linzee Kull McCray with the perfect solution: an easy, no-fuss, laid-back QAL featuring Linzee’s Flowers for Freya fabric collection (Moda Fabrics) in Feed Sacks: TRUE BLUE, a free pattern by Linzee, available via Moda.

Susan fell in love with Linzee’s Flour Garden fabric first, so she knew she would love Flowers for Freya just as much. She partnered up with Linzee to create a quick, fun, prize-loaded quilt along.

The QAL kicked off on March 8 and both she and Linzee have been sewing along, posting fun and motivating progress pics along the way.

Moda, Handmade is Heartmade, Martingale, and Aurifil joined in to share in the excitement and offer a series of fab giveaways and today is OUR day! You’ll want to head to our IG account to learn how to win 8 luscious large spools of our 50wt thread, all in colors to complement Flowers for Freya!

Giveaways aside, the beautiful thing about this QAL is that there is no pressure. Susan and Linzee showcased everything for 2 weeks, but they set it all up in a way that you can dive in any time. Head to Moda to download the pattern. Browse fabrics at Handmade is Heartmade and grab a kit when you’re ready. Dive into the blocks, share your progress via #flowersforfreyaqal, check in with questions, and have fun with the process!

Need a little more inspiration? Don’t miss Linzee’s gorgeous book– Feed Sacks: The Colorful History of a Frugal Fabric — originally published by @uppercasemag and reprinted by Martingale. It’s brimming with fabulous images! We can’t wait to see what you make!!
