Ama Frimpong
Ama (she/her) is a Canadian crafter based in Quebec. She enjoys both fibre crafts and sewing, as well as playing with colours and the process of choosing a project itself. Ama finds inspiration in music and video games, where her love of bold colours and patterns meets vividly experimental experiences, pushing her to solve pattern puzzles in creative ways. Amanda Loewen is the quilt pattern designer behind Prairie Quilt Co. She is inspired by nature, colour, and traditional quilt blocks. When not quilting you can find Amanda gardening, hiking, or at her day job, teaching elementary school!

Amelia Ellen
Amelia Ellen loves all textile processes but mostly enjoys making and mending clothing. From a young age she began learning and developing her skills in a range of different crafting techniques. She now enjoys sharing her skills and knowledge with other people and is a sewing, mending, patchwork, and crochet teacher in her local London borough.

Amira is an avid quilter and the creative force behind The Little Mushroom Cap, a blog where she shares her adventures in quilting and other crafts. She began quilting in Australia in 2011 but has been sewing all her life. Now based in Malaysia, her work is celebrated for its vibrant use of colors and textures, with her free motion quilting designs inspiring quilters around the world to explore their own creativity.

Andrea Kjorlaug
Andrea Kjorlaug is the modern sewist and pattern designer behind Domesticated Engineer. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, she started sewing at a young age and has enjoyed everything from hand pieced quilts to production sewing. Her work is inspired by small farmers, producers and artisans. She loves to infuse local textiles and fibers into her work.

Annie Tremblay
Annie is a sewist who discovered modern quilting four years ago and totally fell in love. Her favorite thing to do is mixing machine and hand quilting which leads to playing with different weights and colors of thread. She is an avid pattern tester and has tested for many talented pattern designers and loves to share her makes through her photography on Instagram.

Ashelyn Downs
Ashelyn Downs found her sewing experience, pattern writing, and design background culminating in the creation of beginner-friendly quilt patterns that represent the styles and spaces of the people who get to use them. Pulling from the full evolution of 20th-century architecture, 90’s grunge, street art, travel, and pop culture, she combines minimalist color palettes and artistic concepts in her work, which she hopes will inspire the next generation to value and pursue the art of quilting.

Atia is a sewist and content creator. She shares handmade fashion, photography and home styling, designed to uplift and inspire with colour. She also enjoys knitting, spending time in the garden, reading and travel.

A lifelong love of textiles led Barbie Mitchell to the vibrant world of quilting. Her signature style blends precise needle-turn appliqué with rhythmic big-stitch quilting, drawing inspiration from her own life stories and nature’s ever-changing palette on Bundjalung Country, Australia. These inspirations translate into stunning works that showcase the conversation between her hands, fabric, and thread.

Candice Odeen
Candice is a quilter that lives in northern Wisconsin. She was introduced to sewing as a child by her grandfather and is passionate about pairing the perfect fabrics, materials, patterns, and designs to create unique heirlooms. When not sewing, Candice loves spending time outside with family, snuggling her two dogs and cat, and savoring a delightful cup of coffee.

Based in Boise, Idaho, Christina Lee designs and makes quilts with mix and match blocks patterns which can be found at the Sweet Potato Quilt Club. Christina’s passion and mission is to foster community and empower quilters with the tools and inspiration they need to make the quilts of their dreams. Whether it is designing and making their own quilts with quilt math or picking and choosing from hundreds of layout possibilities with mix and match blocks, Christina is here to help quilters find their own style and make unique, one-of-a-kind quilts.

Christine is a self-taught quilter. She started 15 years ago with a quilt book, a fabric kit and a pair of scissors, and now she is totally addicted. She loves bold and vibrant colors, and working on quilts is her happiness therapy.

Claire Houghton
Claire is a mixed media textile artist based in the South West who draws inspiration from walks along the Cornish coastline and surrounding countryside. Her passion for sewing began at a young age, with a desire to experiment and just play. Using a variety of processes and techniques including painting and manipulating fabrics, she loves to create unique and original textile art. She breathes new life into discarded linen and lace. Often you can spot the edge of a tablecloth. Claire uses a combination of machine and hand embroidery to give texture and detail to her art, where possible using water soluble fabric to create delicate layers.

Elissa is a textile artist with an aesthetic that is designed to inspire – she combines her love of quilting and background in garment making to passionately create pieces that are modern and made-to-stand-out. Her favorite methods of sewing include foundation paper piecing and English Paper Piecing – detailed fussy cutting and precision work is where she puts the love in the details. Elissa’s creative style is bold, bright, & beautiful with a dash of over-the-top! She is passionate about pushing the boundaries of mixing endless color and loads of pattern in her creations.

Fiona Johnstone is an award winning quilter that specialises in hand piecing tiny curves. She enjoys a challenge and loves to add patchwork and quilting into non-traditional projects! This is Fiona’s second year as an Aurifil Artisan and she is very excited to make more connections in the quilting community and for the upcoming Artisan projects!

Hannah Parks
Hannah discovered quilting as a peaceful evening retreat after chaotic days of parenting young kids. She enjoys exploring all areas of quilting, most recently improv, and especially loves creating quilt labels with selvedges and embroidery. When she’s not quilting, you’ll find her kayaking and hiking near her home in Alaska, or exploring other handcrafts such as dyeing or broom-making.

Janice is a quilter and pattern designer who is always up for experimenting with new ideas. You will typically find Janice surrounded by a chaotic mess of thread, fabric and a pair of animals whose mission is to create as much entropy as possible when blocks are neatly laid out.

Janine Heschl is a self taught textile artist specialized in photorealistic wildlife portraits embroidered in free motion on a vintage sewing machine. Janine is based in Vienna, Austria where she lives with her husband, two boys and a loopy labrador.

Kimberley Arnold
Kim is a modern quilter and self-confessed zoology nerd from the UK. She aims to produce the most lifelike paper pieced portraits of the animal kingdom and delights in making them available for other quilters to try! While her favourite techniques are FPP, EPP and free-motion quilting she loves to try new things and is currently immersed in fabric collaging.

Lexi is a new quilter but long time creative. She finds joy in the small details of a project: a vibrant color story, the perfect fussy cut, and embellishing all the details with Aurifil thread. Lexi is active in the creative community and is a curious learner; always willing to try something new and share details about the process along the way!

Mariana is a graphic designer who uses her skills to create easy-to-follow modern quilt patterns. Featured in many magazines over the years, her patterns stand out for their clean look and illustrated instructions. Mariana is based in GA and enjoys traveling with family, perfecting her photography, and staying in on a Sunday with a piping hot cup of coffee. This is her second year as an Artisan!

Marta Chade
Marta has been involved in various fiber arts for as long as she can remember, but it was micro crocheting that really got her hooked (pun intended). She began her adventure into the world of miniatures over 7 years ago with one question: how far could she push her crocheting skills? Now she works with fine sewing thread and the tiniest crochet hooks, crocheting miniatures for 1:12 scale dollhouses. Tiny granny square blankets are her absolute favorite.

Mary is the creator and maker behind Ember Craft Company and based in Northern California. She is a twin mama, quilt pattern designer, and lover of thread. She loves dreaming up innovative ways to create with quilts and enjoys adding a quilted touch to non-traditional items such as shoes and garments. Mary is beyond excited to be working with Aurifil for a second term as an Artisan!

Matthew is a full-time architect registered in the state of Texas and a some-time quilter living in Minnesota. He took his pandemic-era love of quilting and began writing and releasing quilt patterns in the summer of 2021. He loves a mustardy yellow color in any form and lives with his two orange rescue cats: Macaroni and Charlie.

Sarah loves to create with repurposed materials, fabric scraps, and other media while exploring many different quilting and sewing forms. Sarah’s work is often inspired by the landscapes of her travels, and her present and past homes. The contrasts between the mountainous views in Colorado, and the seascapes of Ireland, are particularly influential in her designs and colour choices. Sarah also has a passion for social justice, teaching, and sustainability.

Susanne is in her mid-40s and lives in Berlin. She is originally an archaeologist and worked for several years in the museum curating and organizing exhibitions. In 2023, she followed her passion for fabric, founded the small label FADENfährte and started her own business with her first patchwork patterns and handmade bags and other home textiles.

Suzanne is a British designer and maker whose portfolio specializes in English paper piecing and cathedral window patterns. She has recently designed and made a collection of spectacular English paper pieced cushions and quilts for Liberty Fabrics. She is renowned for her attention to detail and eye for colour, that many have given her the unofficial title of Queen of fussy cutting! She is a strong believer in William Morris design philosophy of “having nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”

Tamara Darragh, the heart and soul behind Remi Vail Studio, is a passionate creator of quilt and bag patterns, as well as handmade goods that exude warmth and charm. Nestled in Minnesota with her husband and two furbabies, Tellee and Corduroy, Tamara finds endless inspiration in nature and sentimentality. Her cozy modern aesthetic shines through her beautifully dyed fabrics and meticulously crafted textiles. When she’s not sewing, you can find her tending to her beloved garden, dreaming up her next creative project.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Vickeidy transitioned from teaching to quilting, bringing her passion to life. She’s called NYC home for the past 20 years, where she lives with her husband and their two children.

Vivian, a Montreal portrait photographer and devoted “Quiltaholic,” joyfully welcomed her first sewing machine in January 2020. Creating a memory quilt for her sweetheart sparked an immediate passion, akin to “love at first sight.” Presently, she delights in showcasing her vibrant quilting through her photography on Instagram. In January, she was named a Ruby Star Maker for 2024.

Zeïba is a French and Senegalese textile lover. Her creative journey started 7 years ago and is fueled by a perpetual desire to learn and experiment with fabrics, threads, textures and colours. She loves shopping in Senegal for African textiles, learning to dye linens, creating scrappy quilts, hand quilting especially on linen quilts, and embroidery.
