Aurifilosophy Expands in 2025: Meet Our Newest Certified Educators

Greetings fellow thread lovers! I’m Karen L. Miller of Redbird Quilt Co., Master Educator and Program Coordinator for Aurifil’s thread education program, Aurifilosophy.

Today I’m excited to announce new members of our thread education team. Virtual or in-person, lecture or workshop, your group or guild will be thrilled to consider these team members for your upcoming education programs.

At Aurifil, we believe in the power of education, community, and the thread that ties us all together— quite literally! Since launching our thread education program, Aurifilosophy, in 2019, our mission has remained clear: to spread knowledge, spark creativity, and foster a deeper understanding of our beloved threads through a network of passionate, certified educators.

Over the years, our team of Aurifilosophers has grown into a vibrant collective of makers, each uniquely skilled in their craft and committed to sharing their passion and thread journey with quilters, sewists, and creatives across the globe. Whether teaching in person, leading online workshops, or inspiring through social media and published works, each Aurifilosopher brings their own voice, vision, knowledge, and love of Aurifil to the table.

Today, we’re thrilled to introduce the latest wave of Aurifilosophers joining us in 2025! This dynamic group represents a wide range of techniques, styles, and specialties, but they all share a common thread: an unwavering passion for high-quality thread and a dedication to teaching others how to make the most of it. Please join us in welcoming these talented educators to the Aurifilosophy family. We are honored to have them on board and excited to share even more additions to the team as the year unfolds!

LINDA SULLIVAN

A fearless champion of color and creativity, Linda Sullivan is the vibrant force behind Colourwerx. Based in sunny Palm Springs, California, she brings more than 25 years of experience to her work as a quiltmaker, pattern designer, educator, and fabric designer. Alongside her husband and creative partner Carl, Linda has left her mark on nearly every corner of the quilting world—from bestselling patterns and books to fabric collections and their beloved former quilt shop, Linderella’s Quilt Works.

Known for her bold palettes, midcentury modern flair, and playful approach to appliqué, Linda’s designs are packed with energy and movement. She has a special love for raw edge machine appliqué, often layering in decorative stitches and colorful threads for texture and personality. Through Colourwerx, she and Carl continue to share their passion with makers nationwide—teaching, designing, and celebrating the joyful art of quilting.

JO WESTFOOT

Jo Westfoot is a passionate patchwork and quilting teacher and the creative mind behind The Crafty Nomad, based in the south of England. With a style that’s bold, bright, and distinctly modern traditional, Jo brings a fresh energy to every stitch. Her true quilting love? Free motion quilting. She thrives on exploring new designs, playing with different thread weights, and—most of all—helping quilters build confidence to free motion their own quilts.

Through her online sewing school and the Quilt Hive membership, Jo teaches a wide range of patchwork and quilting techniques, offering supportive, skill-building education to makers around the world. Her mission is simple: empower others to find joy and freedom in the quilting process.

ANGELA WIRTH

Angela Wirth is an award-winning longarm quilter, published artist, and proud owner of Mended Hearts Quilting & Btq. With more than 25 years in the quilting world, she’s built a reputation as a true fabric and thread whisperer—bringing care, creativity, and craftsmanship to every project. In 2014, she discovered Aurifil thread and never looked back. The smooth finish, strength, and stunning color range completely transformed her work… and, in her words, spoiled her for anything else.

As an Aurifilosopher, Angela now spreads her love of thread with a healthy dose of humor, heart, and hands-on guidance—helping fellow makers find the perfect spool to make their quilts shine. (Side effects of attending her workshops may include thread petting, color obsession, and spontaneous creative outbursts!)

KERRY KEEBLE

Based in the South East of England, Kerry Keeble is a longarm quilter, EPP pattern designer, and passionate quilting educator with a flair for precision and playfulness. Her specialty? Fussy cutting for English Paper Piecing—transforming fabric into mesmerizing kaleidoscope designs and intricately pieced blocks that are as impressive as they are inspiring.

Kerry’s creative work has caught the attention of the wider industry, with her quilts most recently showcased in the windows of Selfridges. Through teaching and community engagement, she loves nothing more than helping makers gain the confidence to explore their own style. Her enthusiasm for fabric, thread, and thoughtful design is infectious—and she’s always eager to share it with anyone willing to listen (or stitch along)!
