The Chicago International Quilt Festival was a GREAT show this year!

Loads of People came to see the quilts and do a little shopping… maybe a LOT of shopping!

Frist stop was at Freida Anderson’s booth. Frieda uses 50 weight Aurifil thread in all her pojects.. either top and bottom, or just in the bobbin for perfect stitch tension.  I LOVE her bright cheery colors!

And listen to my March 22 Radio show interview with Frieda!

The WoolyLady booth was HOPPING! They use the Aurifil Wool Lana thread

And their projects are amazing!

Close up of some stitching

And shoppers having fun! Visit the WoolyLady at shows… or online!

Edtya Sitar had a beautiful booth of her work. She has an amazing use of Batiks and non batiks.

Here is her display of her Aurifil Thread Art kits! Edyta was very busy and I was not able to snap a photo of her in the booth… next time!

Visit Edyta’s website

Over to Bigfork Bay Cotton Company  where the use of Aufil in every project gives you a great idea of how it looks stitched up!  Here is their display of 50wt… which has been greatly depleted by the time I got there to take photos!

50 Weight used to applique/quilt at the same time, what a fun fast way to get a project done!

And the Lana Wool on their new series of wool quilt patterns.

Plus the booth was so full of great project you just HAD to go in and look!

Visti them online or catch them at a show!

Elvira Illig is a long arm quilter from Illinois that had one of her quilts using Aurifil thread hanging in the show!… I just love her quilt!

Next year the spring IQA Show will be in Cincinnati April 8-10, 2011
