  1. I love the Snowfall quilt!
Every year on Christmas Eve we go to the midnight church service then come home for mulled wine and mince pies!

    1. I love making everyone a small gift each year. This year is a coiled basket for keys or small change.

  2. My favorite Christmas tradition is the Christmas stocking. They’re very special at our home where we get some of the funniest, fun, and special gifts. My husband gets very creative!

  3. I suppose Holiday traditions are a little different in the Southern Hemisphere! Would it surprise you to know that Carols by Candlelight, on Christmas Eve is my favourite tradition- especially if the weather is balmy and warm!

  4. My favorite holiday tradition is taking out the Christmas quilts that I’ve made and hanging them or tossing them where they will be used during the season. There is a quilt for each of my grandchildren to inherit. Each quilt will carry with it memories of Christmas at grandma’s house.

  5. My favorite holiday tradition is driving around town and enjoying all the light displays on Christmas Eve. I also follow on Facebook.

  6. We try to keep it simple and loose, not big on struggling for tradition sake. Every year, though, my husband saves the silver bells for my to hang on the tree. One was given to my mother on my birth and the other was given to me when our son was born. That one I don’t mind.

  7. My favorite holiday tradition was making a big bowl of eggnog (homemade with a little rum and bourbon) to sip while trimming the tree. Unfortunately it is now just me and it had fallen by the wayside. But last year my nephew was here to help put up the tree. And I made a batch!!!! Will have to continue, even if it is just me. Just for the memories. And wonderful memories too.

  8. My favourite holiday tradition is to drive around our town looking at all the Christmas lights with my children and dogs.

  9. We pick our favorite Christmas card and frame. Each year when we decorate for Christmas we hang all the cards from past years and reminisce.

  10. I love the colors they used in this Christmas book I’m sure I would make alot of things in it. I love the holidays and my tree is up just after Thanksgiving. It takes me 3 days to get it all just right!
I would love to win this! 🙂

  11. Thanks for the great giveaways. The best part of Christmas is the blessings from spending time with friends and family. A highlight is the annual cookie bake – couples, families, grandchildren get together for an evening of making cookies, food and fellowship, then home with dozens of cookies!

  12. My favorite holiday tradition is the family meal. We use plates and silverware and many items that belonged to family members who are no longer with us–my mother, mother-in-law, my grammy, great-grammy, and lots of aunts. The meal is filled with nostalgia and laughter.

  13. My favorite holiday tradition is the supper my husband and I host for my large family. It is so great to have everyone together and share the magic of Christmas. Would love to win this great prize.

  14. My favourite holiday tradition is to go to the beach with my family on Christmas Eve, eat hot chips on the sand and then walk along the beach or in the water if it is really hot. SO relaxing and a great way to start the Christmas period.

  15. My favorite holiday tradition is that we all cook together ~ every person has a dish they make best, even the little ones. It’s a little crazy in the kitchen but we do have lots of fun!
Thanks so much for a lovely giveaway and the chance to win.

  16. My favorites are the cookie baking and gingerbread house decorating. Lots of family bonding time that’s creative.

  17. My favorite Christmas tradition is filling my advent quilt with chocolate for my children.

  18. My favorite tradition is Christmas eve with the extended family and watching all of the little ones open their presents

  19. My favorite Christmas tradition is giving my sister in law unusual/funny gifts that I have accumulated all year (from garage sales, thrift stores etc). Then I wrap them in wrapping paper that is different than all the other paper and sign it from a different character every year (ex: Grinch, Ebenezer Scrooge, etc). We all get a very big laugh out of it (even my sister in law).

  20. My favourite holiday tradition is the bake exchange I’ve been organizing every year. So much fun for the girls to all get together. <3

  21. I just fell in love with the Snowfall Quilt. I simply admire Amanda Murphy and would be so happy and grateful to win her new book for myself. 35. I started a new tradition last Christmas. I made a Christmas quilt, wall hanging and took it to my children’s home for Christmas. Each year, we spend as much time as possible between Thanksgiving and the third Saturday in December checking out all the Christmas lights displays on homes in Phoenix and putting together a “run” (a progression) of the best of them. And then on the third Saturday in December, we lead 30 – 40 cars from our MINI Cooper club on a Christmas lights run through the entire metro area to view people’s Christmas lights and decor. We make a few scheduled stops, including one halfway stop for refreshments and we end up at a house with over half a million lights where one year we ran into Muhammad Ali and his family, also looking at the lights.

Christmas Eve, staying up till after Midnight and opening gifts.

Our traditional food is ham, stuffed shells and other good food. My daughter does the majority of the baking and we have our sugar cookie day where we decorate all the cookies.

  77. One of my favorite holiday traditions is when my daughters and I light the Chanukah candles. Also when a group of friends and family go out for Indian food on Christmas Day. Nothing like a family of contrasts.

  78. My favorite part of the holidays is getting to visit family we don’t normally see. It a tradition of ours to visit one family member each Christmas, we typically rotate as they live far away.

  85. Our favourite tradition is to open just one gift from under the tree on Christmas Eve. Thanks for the awesome giveaway.

  86. Our favorite holiday tradition is to all go together to the local Christmas Tree Farm. It’s the same farm I have gone to since 1959 and is still owned by the same family. I’ve taken my own children there since they were born and now one of them who still lives in the area is taking his own family to that same farm. My husband and I have sadly not gone the past few years because of my health and I have to admit not going there leaves a huge hole in my Christmastime celebrations. That is such a very long history for me to have gone to the same farm for that many years.

On Christmas night we get our coziest PJ’s on, grab our hot chocolates and pile in the car to go to “Lights on the Lake” It’s millions of Christmas light displayed on a 2-3 mile drive in a local park. Santa is there, Christmas music is playing. It’s beautiful and we look forward to it every year!

    The book looks beautiful!

  100. My favourite Christmas tradition is handwriting Christmas cards and a letter to friends…no electronic greetings from this house!

  101. Putting the star that my children made about 35 years ago on the top of the tree. If you are new to our family or a first time guest at our Christmas celebration the honour falls to you. The tree is not complete until the star is hung.

  102. I already follow Aurifil on Facebook. My favourite thread and I am excited to try the new floss and linen threads – hopefully SOON!

  103. My favorite holiday tradition is the Christmas Eve celebration with my 8 siblings and their families. We are all married with two children and some grandchildren; therefore, it is always “a riot” especially when we play the kris kringle game of stealing gifts from one another. We don’t go home until it’s almost 4am Christmas Day. I am not on Facebook; otherwise I would follow Aurifil there.

  104. My favorite holiday tradition is visiting with relatives who live too far away to see more often.

Love the book and of course, Aurifil threads! Thanks for a chance to win!

  110. Trimming the tree has always been my favorite Christmas tradition; it’s so wonderful to relive special memories associated with each ornament as it’s placed on the tree, and equally fun to fin a special new one each year to add to the collection.

  111. We have always opened our presents one at a time so we can “oooh” and “aaaah” over each gift. My son (college age) always thought this was such a terrible idea…until he was visiting another family and experienced the chaos. He is slowly realizing I have my reasons for doing things a certain way.

  112. My favorite tradition is to ride through Tanglewood park were they have the festival of lights each year. It gets our family excited about the season.

  113. We have many holiday traditions and they have changed as our children have grown and left home. One that is still a favorite is our Christmas Day brunch — for however many of us are “in town”, with our breakfast casserole, cinnamon buns, etc.

  114. Our favorite Christmas tradition is being together early Christmas morning, eating sausage cheeseballs, opening gifts and watching the little ones faces. Being together is the best part of the holidays!

  115. Holiday tradition. I think my real question is what Holiday Tradition don’t I like? Basically, if it’s been any sort of tradition since I was a child I try to follow it. I still love Santa coming for EVERYONE under the tree. We have about 7 family holiday parties to go to. My mom has 12 brother’s and sisters so every year we rent a hall for the over 100 folks that come. Everyone makes an ornament and that’s how we decorate the tree when we arrive. At the end of the party, we pick a name and that’s who gets the ornament we made. This past year was the first year without my grandma and I wasn’t sure how many would make the trip to Christmas. All but two cousins (who live out of state) made it! It was wonderful to be able to share memories of my grandma on christmas with everyone. I could write a novel about holiday tradition but I’ll stop here for now 🙂 Thanks for this awesome giveaway! I heart Aurifil!

  116. I think one of my favorite traditions for the holiday season is make a yule logs. However, since every year has a different theme when it comes to the adornments on the logs, we then end up making a new table runner to place the decorated log on. Then we make a matching tree skirt!

  119. What an amazing book. Thanks for sharing and for the very generous giveaway. My favorite holiday tradition is found each year on our Christmas tree. 194. I imagine I should write something about my love of quilting and thread and fabric and all that. Making special gifts and all, which I do. But, my joy comes from baking all the Hungarian cookies that have been handed down from generation to generation. Taught to me by my mother and then to my children and now the grandchildren fill the kitchen, make a mess, the cookies sometimes don’t look perfect, they are covered in flour, I have a mess in my hair and let’s not get to the kitchen clean up part. This is my love affair with Christmas. That and then comes Christmas eve when I plate up the cookies for our open house and watch the children smile as I extol many kudos upon them for the beauty of their work. I love it. I am blessed.

We have our standard recipes which are always a favorite, and we add a few new treats each year so that there are about a dozen or so varieties. Our FedEx driver is the envy of his coworkers, because he always gets a large box. It started the year before my twin sons were born, and they will be 18 next year.
