hmmm…I wish you hadn’t made me think about this. I easily have more than 100 spools of thread! Different weights, fibers and colors. (Have you any suggestions for running Aurifil on a Gammil Charm? That’s their 18″ sit down machine much like their Vision I believe.)

I have about 30 spools of thread, but lately I use mostly Aurifil, I have about 10 of those.
I have over 100 spools but I just switch brands to aurifil so not many of them. I would say about 15 spools of them and running out of some. Great thread works well in my machine.
I own several hundred spools of thread. It is my goal to have all of the different Aurifil colors.

I own many 100’s of spools of thread, perhaps thousands.. I can’t count that high. You can’t just have 10 or 20 spools of Aurifil, with 50, 40, 28, and 12 weight, solids and variagated, cotton and wool ! All those luscious colors! You gotta have a thread stash, and Aurifil needs to play a big part of that thread stash.
OM, I need to count then all? …In a cases I have 20, in my bag I have 4, in a jar I have 35, in desk drawers 7, a box with 65, in little bin I have 28, with ongoing projects I have 8. …write I have a lot of thread 167 spools of thread. I would live to win the Auifil because I hear it is fantastic and my machine will live me if I switch to such fine thread.

I’ve only been using Aurifil for about a year. I have maybe 6. Lots of other brands I had been using for embroidery, piecing, and quilting-probably about 200.

I have lots of off brand spools, but don’t use them anymore, so don’t know how many there are packed away. I have about 28 Aurifil spools….not enough as that is all I use anymore.
Well, I’m almost ashamed to say this, but I have 534 spools of thread, and I’ll bet I missed some… all different sizes of spools, including polyester, cotton, various metallics, and embroidery. Out of all of that, 64 spools are Aurifil!! There is a reason I call myself a thread junky…

About 40, I have only just 1 spool of Aurifil. That 1 spool has taught me that there is no thread quite like Aurifil.
I counted 116, but I am sure I have some packed away with future projects:) Most are from my clothing making days and are not aurofil. Now I am slowly building a stash of aurofil as I make more and more quilts.

I have six Aurifill spools of neutrals for piecing. I just started quilting this year. I am doing free motion quilting and bought a set of 12 Isacord spools too, as well as a few Coats and Clarks when I first started out! I bought a couple of Guterman, but I think I like Aurifil better and am planning on buying a set or two in the future!

I don’t have that many spools of thread to my name. I wish that I had a lot of different colors to choose from but right now it looks like I have 3 whites, one blue and one yellow. I’d say about 50. About half of them are cotton quilting thread (the rest are polyesters for sewing knits), primarily Aurifil 50 wt, but there are a few Aurifil 30 wts in there as well, in a number of very pretty colours purchased for specific projects. For the most part, though, I use one of three Aurifil cones (white, grey, and beige) for piecing and often for quilting.
There’s too many to count, at least without taking time away from sewing…
I currently have 65 spools on my thread rack, but most of them are spools with very little thread left on them and were colors for specific projects, especially garment sewing. I use those small amounts for sewing hexies!
I own about 45, 6 being Aurifil. I was convinced to try it after hearing the raves of the staff at Sew Deja Vu, my favorite quilt shop, in Stow, Ohio. With a Microtex sharp 70 or 80, it goes through the fabric like butter! I’ve bought no other brand since and will and do tell anyone who will listen about this fab thread. I so want to win!

200 plus, mostly rayon embroidery thread that i have had for about 15 years.. I very rarely use the embroidery feature of my machine. Quilting has now become my passion, but I have less than 10 quilting threads.
Probably a couple hundred or more, but some of them are my collection of old boil fast cotton threads on wooden spools and the like. Never will sew with these unless absolutely desperate. Then there are all of the “junk” threads I got from my sister — the 10 for a dollar type back in the day. Need to do a cleanout.

Happy to say that this has now stopped…I think that Aurifil is the best thread …just love it!

I love looking at the colors as they are all lined up…just as amazing as looking at fabric all line up…or jars of jelly beans lined up! But I have to admit, I have2 drawers, one for poly thread and one for cotton threads and there are about 20 polys and 40 cottons…and out of all that… this week I needed 2 colors that I didn’t have! 30-40, mostly acquired for top stitching purposes when you need a color to match. Most of my “hidden seam sewing” is done in boring old white!
Oh my, you didn’t ask an easy question. I looked in my all my storage boxes and on the shelves and I am a little embarrassed to admit but I have 157. I love thread. A girl just can never have too much thread. You never know when you need that right color of tangerine orange or candy apple red or passionate pink.
Probably about 30, but some were given to me a long time ago and are very old-they break easily and hang up in my machine sometimes.
I think I only have about 3 spools of Aurifil…that was before I learned about Aurifil and used it! Now all my other spools are being slowly replaced by color and I’m handing it to my girls who are just getting into projects… when they fall in love, THEN I’ll tell them about Aurifil! There is no way I could tell you exactly how many spools of thread I have because it would take me all day and plus another day. Have spools of crochet thread, I have spools of embroidery thread, I have spools of multi-purpose thread, i have spools of serger thread, and I have spools of cotton thread. However, if you asked me how many spools of Aurifil thread I have 1 it is a white one and I just found a local store that sells it. However, I have not tried it yet because I got it for a special project that I have not been able to start yet because I promised myself I would finish up the 10 projects I have going first.

I recently was introduced to Auriful thread by Jan Manley. I contacted her via her blog about POTC quilt blocks. Since, I have purchased a total of 14 spools of Auriful. I am so amazed by the results in my free motion project, I will never use anything else. Total, including embroidery threads, and the “other brand” threads I have in house total 213. Wish I could trade the old ones in for Aurifil! lol 🙂

I’ve been sewing for 47 years, so have no idea. Most of it is now considered junk, except for my 20, or so spools of Aurifil.

How many stools of thread, good question. Hundreds, I embroidery with my machine. There is never too many stools of thread!
Thankfully, I inherited my mother’s thread collection, so I have a couple hundred spools of thread. Not all great quality, but I love them all the same.
I’m going to say at least 100 but I did not find the right color brown for the quilting I was going to do yesterday! Figures, doesn’t it!

I have around 26 spools of good thread of various sizes for piecing and quilting. I have another bunch of pretty junky stuff I use for hand mending.
Oh gosh–about 4 of those sulky boxes and at least 3 or 4 aurifil boxes full 🙂 🙂

200+, 30+ are aurifil, one drawer with with over 25 old ones is to keep my grandson occupied when he visits. He loves to sort them, stack them and watch then unwind. I just cut off the unwound thread and discard.

I have over 100 spools of thread but only 10 are Aurifil because I have only recently seen the light. It does make a difference as several instructors have told me.
I have about 30 Aurifil and about 125 of others.
About 20. I am trying to use up the junk thread with hand basting hexies and only use quality thread in my Bernina. Aurifil is fast taking over my favorite spot and has been the only thread I have purchased of late.
I have a couple hundred spools easily, but most are rayon for machine embroidery. I have only 4 spools of cotton quilting thread at this time.

Over 100, a lot especially since I stopped using all the other brands, I guess I should throw all the old stuff away. I would never sew with anything other than Aurifil. I do have a large variety of blue/denims to patch up my sweeties work jeans. What a great guy, some of his jeans have 3 or more patches.

I have quite a lot as I used to sew clothes for my kids but I didn’t even notice the fiber content. It was only about matching colors. I’ve learned so much as a quilter and have recently discovered aurifill. It is by far my favorite for piecing and quilting. The collections with all the colors make me drool! I would choose fabric for a quilt just to go with those threads!

I have about 60 spools of thread, most of them the “other” brand – but I would love to try Aurifil – I am a big fan of Camille Roskelley and Joanna from Fig Tree and they both rave about Aurifil. Also, no stockists close by so hopefully that will change soon as Aurifil grows in popularity

Is “Too Many To Count” an okay answer? I piece exclusively with Aurifil 2021 in 50/2 so I always have an extra two or three in hand although one of the large cones sews on and on. I have many other colors in smaller spools for quilting and a large cone in white. 40/2. I could never have too much Aurifil thread. Thanks for the chance to win … 🙂 Pat

How many? Really? To many to count. Over a 100 of sewing thread and more than 200 of embroidery thread. I have been using Aurifil 50/2 for piecing for a while and I love it.
To actually count the number of spools of thread I have would take a while. I have embroidery, quilting, regular sewing thread, serger and it could go on. I would love to replace it all with Aurifu, maybe one day.
I have almost 300 spools, not including embroidery thread. About 200 of those are a collection of vintage spools in a pretty oak rack, many of which I inherited from my great aunt and mom who were wonderful seamstresses. Only 100 or so are what I currently use for quilting and sewing, 1/2 of those, of course are Aurifil.

I have about 40 polyester threads for embroidery, about 10 silk for hand applique (and quilting when I want a fine line), and about 100 cotton spools, about 30 of which are aurifil. I have been exclusively buying aurifil for the past couple of years so i anticipate to eventually phase out my other cotton threads.
I have over 75 but no Aurifil at all 🙁 I’m desperate to try it! My best friend swears by it and it would be great to win 🙂

I tend to use mostly neutrals and generally use a whole spool before moving on to the next. I do not have a wide colour range and probably have about 25 spools.

I’m a newbie to Aurifil, for the longest time no shops in my area in Ont Canada sold it! Now it’s everywhere. I am so glad too, it’s as good as I had heard! I now have 3 spools
WAY too many to count. Lots of Aurifil for piecing, but also have Longarm machine with 13 years worth of large thread cones. Have enjoyed the collections of 12 large spools of Aurifil.
Too many , but not enough!!! As I do all kinds of sewing, from longarm to embroidery, plus embellishment, the assortment is endless. problem is, never the color I need when it comes time to sew!!!

I have ca. 200 Spools of thread. Most of them are from my passed Mother (she was a seamstress) and a few I bought for myself. And I’ve a few rolls of Silkspool for my handapplique.
I think I’ve to throw away some of them but they are all in a good condition and like most of the others I like to grab the perfect color for my fabric.

I own around 150 spools of sewing thread and 300 spools of embroidery thread.
I love sewing and I love colour – having the perfect colour thread is a must for me. I have 205 spools of thread. Eight spools of the total are for bra making only. I’ve spent the last few weeks frantically trying to find a place to buy Aurifil, ending with success this last week! My search was urgent as a number of spools in my collection are too old, or the wrong kind of thread, to use on new projects. Since I have two baby panel quilts ready to sew – just had to find Aurifil for them. I am thrilled that 28 of the total are Aurifil, even though the purchase wrecked my budget. I found the perfect colours for my quilt panels!! I am really excited about the Aurifil colours – they are so vibrant, and the thread itself is amazing for texture and sheen – just love it! I am in love with Italian fabric – sheets, yardage for sewing, etc. And to discover Aurifil, actually touch the spools and take them home, just made my day! My goal is to have every colour – winning would really help my budget and my creativity! Thank you for offering such a wonderful and incredibly useful giveaway. 🙂
