For the love of Miss Edie Grey

Meet Miss. Edie Grey, an adorable 1-1/2-year-old cream french bull-dog from Oklahoma. Christopher (The Tattooed Quilter) and Jack acquired her from a breeder and at 8 weeks old, she made her journey from the mid-west to the big apple. She may just be one of the most delightfully adorable pups we’ve ever seen. Edie spends her days lounging on perfect pink chairs, basking in the sunlight, reading the NYTimes style section, brunching with her dads, and talking strolls around her NYC neighborhood.

Fun Facts About Miss. Edie Grey:

  • She’s named her after “Little” Edith Beale from Grey Gardens fame.
  • Like most french bull dogs, she’s stubborn, loveable, and an all-around clown.
  • She loves to snuggle with her humans, especially under a vintage quilt.
  • She prefers beef over chicken.
  • Apples and the occasional popcorn are her go-to snacks.
  • She loves the pool and would take a bath every day if she could.
  • She prefers Fall over Summer.
  • She has two besties in her human’s apartment building: Eggs and Rosie.
  • She’s an Instagram pup-ebrity (pup celebrity) and won’t pose without snacks. (Follow her HERE)
  • She’s quite the shopper and anyone who walks her down the block will quickly learn that she knows exactly where the two dog shops are in the neighborhood.

It was only fitting that Christopher include a fabric print honoring Miss. Edie Grey. The print comes in three color ways, white, blue, and navy — via Riley Blake Designs.

We jumped at the chance to collaborate with Christopher and Edie on her debut collection, a swift follow-up to Blue Carolina (learn more about Christopher’s debut Aurifil collection by clicking here.) Miss Edie Grey released in September and features 10 small spools — 5 in 50wt and 5 in 12wt.

  9. Those great colors would be great for quilting a friendship quilt I am making out of 30’s fabrics.

  10. The 50 wt thread would be used for quilting. I have been dying to try the 12 wt for applique and big stitch quilting. Love Aurifil. Thanks for another great giveaway.

    is spoiled! Looks
    adorable. I’d like
    to sew up some
    bags.

  14. These colors are so soft they will blend with anything I make. I think coin and larger zipper bags are in order.

  15. Miss Edie is adorable. My Sami the Wonder Dog is an award winning (She won the Lily Pad’s annual Pets on Quilts contest for 2017) Boston Terrier…or Boston Terror according to what mood she is in at the moment. How we love our fur babies.

  16. You can see who rules the roost at your house! She commands attention (by sweetness). Love those blues and the thread. Would love to try some.

  17. Miss Edie Grey is adorable! I’d use some of the threads to do some free-motion quilting on a lap quilt I’ve just finished.

  18. I would definitely make a quilt with the Miss Edie thread collection. Thanks for the chance to win.

  21. I do think Miss Edie would have a girl crush going with my Miss Sophie! They’d get along fabulously! I would use these threads to sew a new dress for Miss Sophie so she can continue to be in style!

  22. Wow , you are one very lucky pooch Miss Edie 🐾 getting your own collection 🐾 I love it all and can’t wait for it to hit Australia ☺️ I am new to paper piercing and have just bought the new pug pattern so I can make my pugalier a collection as good as yours! Well I am going to try 😉

  23. What perfect neutrals! I would use them for hand applique (50 wt) and big stitch quilting (12 wt).

  24. I would make a quilt for the princess in my house too we call her babydog! Ha. Basic colors for basic quilting…love.

  25. Miss. Edie Grey is adorable! I could use these threads in so many projects. It’s hard to pick just one. They would be great for a soft colored baby quilt.

  26. Now I see why my granddaughter talks so much about a French Bulldog. What a wonderful thread collection-usefulfor so many things.

  27. Great collection! And we are dog lovers also. We have had several rescued pups. Our Mr Bilbo Baggins is now 12-14 years old. Got him when he was 2-4. Vet couldn’t tell exactly. He’s a basset/Scottie mix. We call him our Bascotti! 😂Lovable old man now.

  28. My parents used to have an English Bulldog! Love a good selection of neutral threads! Can’t wait to get the Blue Carolina fabrics! Great gorgeousness!

  29. This doggie has the best personality!! Too stinkin’ cute 🙂
Love the thread colors – perfect for anything!

  30. I would use them to fancy stitch lap quilts. I love Aurifil threads, Beautiful colors and greatly reduced lint in my machine. Here’s another hint. Cut your sewing trimmings into small pieces (no long strings) and toss them into a shopping bag. Take larger scraps and make puppy and kitten beds and use the cut up scraps to stuff the beds. I take them to the local No Kill Shelter.

  31. I have a friend with a french bull dog named Grover. It would be fun to make a lap quilt for them out of Ms. Edie Grey’s thread.

  32. Blue is my favorite colors anyone can see from my stash piles. The 12wt thread would be used for my embroidery, and the other for piecing a blue quilt/off-white quilt with embroidery. Thanks for sharing this story. All of our animals have been rescues including pure bred cats and dog.
