When we launched Aurifil Cotton 8wt in early 2024, the response was electric. Initially available in 20 vibrant shades through Evolve by Suzy Williams, it quickly became a go-to for hand-stitchers, embroiderers, textile artists, and quilters alike. The range expanded with Indelible by Anna Maria Textiles last fall, and again with five fresh hues introduced in our inaugural advent calendar, Le Alpi.

Since then, demand has only grown—and with it, the call for easier access. We’ve heard you. What is Aurifil 8wt?

If you’re new to this magnificent thread we’ve been gushing about… Aurifil Cotton 8wt is our heaviest 100% Cotton 2ply thread, produced to the same exacting standards as the rest of our cotton line at our facility just outside Milan, Italy. Wound on our small white wooden spool, this thread is smooth, strong, and bursting with character. It’s designed to deliver bold definition, added texture, and a luxuriously handcrafted finish.
