Stitch the 2012 DOM Reboot: September

Welcome to Month 9 of our Stitch the 2012 DOM Reboot! If you are just joining us, we’re presenting a brand new version of one of our 2012 blocks on the last Thursday of every month. We’ve been loving the opportunity to work on our hand-stitching, particularly because it’s a fabulous beach or picnic activity! This month, we are welcoming Fall! Do you stitch outdoors through the season? We’d like to head up to our favorite apple orchard and sit among the apple trees;). Where is your favorite spot to hand-stitch?

Aurifil offers 270 stunning colors of both our 100% Cotton 12wt thread and Aurifloss, our 100% Cotton 6-strand floss. This year-long stitch-along is a wonderful excuse to give some of those colors a try. 😉

These blocks were originally made with Aurifil 12wt. Would you believe that our floss hadn’t yet been introduced in 2012? We love that this reboot gives us the opportunity to try the blocks out with either a new thread, a new color way, or both AND to reconnect with some of our beloved Designers of the Month! So without further pause, let’s check out September’s block!

Amy Ellis of Amy’s Creative Side created her Fall Leaves block in September of 2012. She selected the image for this block because…

“I love the crunch of leaves in the fall, and could think of nothing else for the month of September. Our leaves are just starting to turn here, and I can’t wait to take the kids for a walk and crunch all the leaves!”

Amy used our 12wt in the following colors to complete her block:

  • 2145
  • 2255
  • 1154

Amy was kind enough to stitch up a brand new version of this block using rich golds that are so typical of this lovely time of year. She used our 12wt in 2145 ( Yellow Orange) and framed the block with similarly rich gold & brown fabrics. Thanks so much, Amy!

Stay tuned for a lovely B&W version of this block stitched up with our favorite Aurifloss by our Social Media & Quilt Guild Coordinator Hilary Jordan. <3

ABOUT THE AURIFIL DOM PROGRAM
Run by industry darling, Pat Sloan, the Aurifil Designer of the Month Program has been a mainstay of the Auribuzz blog since 2011. Each year, Pat brings together a new team of top-notch Designers, featuring one per month throughout the year. Posts generally share an interview, some fabulous images of projects made, studio spaces and more, a FREE block + a chance to win Aurifil thread. At the end of every year, Pat shares a suggested quilt setting. It is a great way to get to know new designers, to try new techniques, to share in a quilt along experience, and to do some collaborative quilting!

  2. This means YOU, personally, really should weight your words SERIOUSLY y u f, and I strongly advice you to delete this written defamation p k a s of both characters and a huge group of people who do not take slander and character assassination like this easily x q o m q. I do not know which organization you have got to back you up, but if you do not care about lawsuits in the multi-million dollar range, fine, just keep on what you are doing h b l e v. If you DO care about spending x-amounts of money to try and defend this CLEARLY written libel, then take my DELETE-advice. Your “Post” is now officially taken both copies and screen-shots of and digitally stored for later use and evidence. This is just a warning. We are antifa, we do not forget. tomas.eien@gmail.com
