The Collecting Colors SAL with Susan Ache (@yardgrl60) is an 8 month FREE Cross Stitch Along that gives stitch enthusiasts the opportunity to create a mini masterpiece while building a library of luscious Aurifloss.
Susan arranged the SAL like a menu…
January — Appetizer
This will be all of the sashing and fill.
February through July — Entrées
These are the main blocks in the “quilt” sampler.
August — Dessert
This is the border and the finishing of the sampler!
If you’ve been stitching along, you’ve likely already completed the Appetizer and the first 4 Entrées (shown below) — if you’re just joining us, have no fear, there is still plenty of time to get caught up!
Today, we’re excited to present two new Entrées, Blocks Five & Six.

As promised, these blocks will add the following NEW colors to your Aurifloss library:
Block 5 — 2735, 2845
Block 6 — 1243, 2510, 2435, 2415, & 5006
You’ll also use colors 5002, 2140, & 2021 from your stash for Block 5 and 2021 for Block 6.
As we look forward to May, we’ll give you the colors you’ll need for the next two Entrée blocks, 7 & 8. Those colors are:
- 2535 (from block 1)
- 2510 (from block 6)
- 1148 NEW
- 2220 NEW
- 6001 NEW
- 2140 (from blocks 3 & 5)
- 2021 (from blocks 1, 3, 5, & 6)
- 2425 (from sashing & block 3)
- 2725 (from sashing & block 3)
- 5002 (from sashing, block 2, & block 5)
- 2735 (from block 5)
- 2710 (from block 3)
- 2130 (from block 3)
All of these colors are available, so please, if you’re looking to find all the floss needed to work through amazing SAL, check with your local quilt shop! If your local shop is not currently shipping or offering curbside pickup, you might try Pumpkinvine Corner, Follow That Thread, or Fat Quarter Shop online.

When I click on the collecting colors bar above, I get a 404 error saying the page can’t be found.
